I AM A DIVERSE BUSINESS, BUT NOT CERTIFIED. CAN I STILL REGISTER USING THE TOOL?
No, a diverse business must be certified with a third-party certifying organization prior to registering to use this tool. Click here for a list of certifying agencies.
I AM A NON-DIVERSE BUSINESS. CAN I STILL REGISTER?
No, registration through the tool is for certified diverse businesses only.
MY BUSINESS WOULD BENEFIT FROM BEING ABLE TO ACCESS A LIST OF CERTIFIED DIVERSE SUPPLIERS TO DISCOVER PARTNERING OPPORTUNITIES. CAN WE GET ACCESS TO THIS TOOL?
In 2020, we will provide access for businesses to use the search tool to identify certified diverse suppliers.
MAY I INVITE OTHER CERTIFIED DIVERSE BUSINESSES TO REGISTER?
Yes, we encourage companies to share the registration link with other certified diverse businesses to increase exposure to new partnership opportunities.
ARE NEW VENDOR APPLICANTS REQUIRED TO HAVE A PRIOR OR ACTIVE RELATIONSHIP WITH AN IUBDC MEMBER UTILITY TO REGISTER ON THE TOOL?
No, the only requirement is third-party certification before tool registration. Click here for a list of certifying agencies.
HOW WILL I KNOW MY SUBMISSION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL?
You will receive an email acknowledging your submission.
MY BUSINESS HAS LOCATIONS IN MULTIPLE CITIES AND/OR STATES). SHOULD I REGISTER MULTIPLE TIMES? IF NOT, WHICH LOCATION SHOULD I USE TO REGISTER?
You only need to register once with your headquarters location.
ONCE REGISTERED WITH THE IUBDC, WILL I ALSO NEED TO REGISTER WITH INDIVIDUAL UTILITIES SEPARATELY?
Yes, you will need to satisfy the requirements for each utility’s vendor registration process.
WILL REGISTRATION GUARANTEE A CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITY WITH ONE OR MORE MEMBER UTILITIES?
No, registration does not guarantee work with any of the member utilities. Your registration provides increased visibility of your company, and any products or services offered.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF REGISTERING MY BUSINESS THROUGH THE IUBDC SUPPLIER MAPPING TOOL?
Benefits of registering your business include increased visibility to IUBDC member utilities and other businesses seeking the goods and services you provide; involvement with an organization focused on promoting the use of diverse businesses in Illinois; and the opportunity to get to know other businesses in your community to develop potential partnerships.
